Opportunities Inspector opportunities We are seeking more Porsche experts to represent us in the following areas: Southern Home Counties (Kent, Sussex, London) and Northwest England (Cheshire, Liverpool, Manchester area). We aim to be the leading Porsche pre-purchase inspection business in the UK, and in the course of a year perform pre-purchase inspections on hundreds of Porsches. We are recommended by the Porsche Club Great Britain and much of our business comes by word of mouth from the various internet forums. At present we operate in the central and southern area of England, south Wales and central Scotland but consistent customer demand means we are looking to expand our class-leading service. There is no standard template for an inspector's previous background experience. Ideally, you will have hands-on Porsche experience, which may have been acquired from wide variety of relevant professional or enthusiast backgrounds. You may work (or have worked) within the professional Porsche service sector or you may already be delivering a pre-purchase inspection service. To perform pre-purchase inspections doesn't only require an automotive knowledge. You will be talking directly with the client, so it's important you can build confidence and trust (as you will be advising him or her on a significant personal investment). You'll need similar skills in front of the seller. An essential requirement of the inspection is that you drive the car for sale, so this image of maturity, safety and reliability is key to your success. The inspection itself uses a well-proven checklist of documentation, body, suspension & brakes, engine & gearbox and interior items, taking photographs of problem areas with your own digital camera. Increasingly we're using computer equipment on modern models. The road test only explores the operation of the car's controls and its basic driving behaviour. There is no high performance element required. You will then have to prepare the report on your PC using our template and forward it to our operations centre for approval and despatch. The report is not a 'ticked box' affair - we aim to educate as well as advise. Looking at Porsches for sale is a very rewarding activity - but your ability to spot the good from the bad is the bottom line of our service. Assignments are given on a freelance basis. The number and frequency of inspections is not predictable. These are not full or part-time employment positions. While we enjoy a very close working relationship between our inspectors, sharing knowledge and experiences, you will be self-employed and entirely responsible for your own safety and actions. You will receive a promptly-paid fee for each inspection, paid without deduction of tax. With regards to general liability being a representative of Peter Morgan Consulting Ltd., our comprehensive terms and conditions define our service as not being a warranty or insurance policy, we aim to provide peace of mind to the buyer only. The arrangement is tried and tested and allows you to fit our bookings in around your existing working commitments with minimum additional administration. Our target is to deliver our inspection service within 3 working days of the client's instructions, but an availability on summer evenings and weekends is fine.
